I've broken both my ankles at the same time. My favorite color is green. I floated and Carlos Santana touched my hand at my first concert.

Ever get sick of people setting mundane rules and boundaries? I do. Are you stuck in the real world? Don't contact me. Mundane workaholic? Not I.

I create hand-crafted websites and graphics that help my clients reach large audiences online. I strive to make the web a better place.

Kinda like the seven dwarves - but there is only one of me. This is the work I do. Please click one of the screenshots below to learn more about what I did.

Maxima and Gibbard Web Design maintain a close working relationship. The latest website modifications was to bring a little more attention to the products and news on the homepage. I added some separation to the categories and products within the "Super Nav" by adding some interaction and filters based upon the category. We also brought in Wordpress to help archive a list of articles that the user has access to within 3 panels on the homepage.

I was contacted about 6 months after doing the Rusty Boardhouse website to setup a similar solution for the second San Diego store, but unique to Del Mar.

I Feel Smarter

wordcamp-san-diego-2012

WordCamp San Diego was March 24th, 2012 and attracted 300 of the savviest developers, designers, marketers, and creative professionals in and around the San Diego area, and within the WordPress community. It was a pleasure to be part of such a great event!

Brandon Dove and Jeffery Zinn from PixelJar.net made great points on utilizing the core WordPress UI to accomplish a wide range of development goals. Teamed with Robert Nienhaus from NienStudios.com, who does all Pixel Jar’s design work, they officially nailed the Hat Trick when they brought the importance of design into development and project planning.

Other highlights included a guest presentation on how to “Stay Classy WordPress” by Ron Burgundy, rounds of applause for dumping IE6 testing, and a wide array of snacks and beverages provided by some great sponsors.

It was an awesome experience and I met some really great people! Thanks again – Jenna Carlson – for letting me know :)

Bootstrap

bootstrap2

Simple and flexible HTML, CSS, and Javascript for popular user interface components and interactions.

Bootstrap is designed to help people of all skill levels—designer or developer, huge nerd or early beginner. Use it as a complete kit or use to start something more complex. Originally built with only modern browsers in mind, Bootstrap has evolved to include support for all major browsers (even IE7!) and, with Bootstrap 2, tablets and smartphones, too.

Unlike other front-end toolkits, Bootstrap was designed first and foremost as a styleguide to document not only our features, but best practices and living, coded examples. Despite being only 10kb (gzipped), Bootstrap is one of the most complete front-end toolkits out there with dozens of fully functional components ready to be put to use.

Hi - I'm Jacob Gibbard.

In case you haven't been priveledged enough to see me, thats me.

I'm a Web Design and Front-End Developer and I've been creating, mending and destroying the web since 2003!

Thanks for stopping by - if you have any more questions please contact me today.

Skills that Pay the Bills.

I started my path on web design in 2003 with a passion for computers & design. When a friend asked for my help putting together a photography website, I jumped at the oppurtunity teaching myself the basics of html code from the ground up.

Since then I've worked and freelanced for more than half a dozen website and marketing companies, helped establish an entire web design department for a new startup, and manage my own business.

Here's how I pay my bills.

Would you like to discuss a potential project? Maybe you just want to stop in and say hi?
